Why do you need your own Web Site and Domain name? There are many people that think setting up a website at one of the many free hosting sites is a quick way to get started on the Internet and make some money. Well if you are just setting up a personal page and have no intentions of trying to make any money on the Internet they are a good solution. On the other hand if you do intend to use the site to help you earn an income then they are definitely not the way to go.

Hi Bill, So good to see you stopping in here. This is well written and we do appreciate you sharing this with us. You have always provided us with very valuable information. By not having my own site, I know I am missing the chance to link with other sites. I also would like to exchange links with other serious internet marketers. It would mulitiply my exposure in the net.

I have bought my own domain with Godaddy, when I
was looking I did not know which hosting companies
would be the best for me and Godaddy was more well
known and was recommended. 

I host my business pages as well as my personal website on there so tried to find a name that would fit both and came up with birddogsprofits with the suggestion from a friend and took the .com route, as
.com is more popular - I did not buy the org or net
variations.

I have not brought over all my personal pages from
the various free sites that they are still on yet.

I just looked up birddogsprofits.com in the whois as
I do not see our names as the owner, only Godaddy
is there a reason for this?

My main question is: Would I be able to change over my
name and site to your hosting?  I have always preferred
to do business with people I know and respect and
be around to answer questions.

Your domain name is probably whois protected and therefore you see godaddy rather than your own name as the owner.
