"The true seeker hunteth naught but the object of his quest"
11/23/2007 9:47:14 AM
" The true seeker seeketh naught but the object of his quest and the lover hath no desire save union with his beloved."
These words are from Bahaullahs "The Seven Valleys"- a script -letter written to a  follower of the Sufi order in answer to questions regarding the  spiritual stages that the seekers must go through in quest of his Beloved, God.

" ... Nor shall the seeker reach his goal unless he sacrifices all things. That is, whatever he hath seen, and heard, and understood, all must he set at naught, that he may enter the realm of the spirit, which is the City of God. Labour is needed, if we are to seek Him; ardour is needed, if we are to drink of the honey of reunion with Him; and if we taste of this cup, we shall cast away the world.
On this journey the traveller abideth in every land and dwelleth in every region. In every face, he seeketh the beauty of the Friend; in every country he looketh for the Beloved. He joineth every company, and seeketh fellowship with every soul, that haply in some mind he may uncover the secret of the Friend, or in some face he may behold the beauty of the Loved One.
And if, by the help of God, he findeth on this journey a trace of the traceless Friend, and inhaleth the fragrance of the long-lost Joseph from the heavenly messenger, he shall straightaway step into the Valley of Love. and be dissolved in the fire of love. In this city the heaven of ecstacy is upraised and the world-illuming sun of yearning shineth and the fire of love is ablaze;...

I have quoted  these lines, because I believe there will be among you readers   souls who are asking for the inner mysteries of the Faith of God. This booklet of "The Seven Valleys" by Bahaullah is a wonderful company of those souls who do Independent Search for God, regarding themselves as outsiders, having left the benches below the preachers. I left long time ago, already at sunday school, and searched for many a year for the Faith with a big F and Man with the big M. It turned out to be the Manifestation of God for this age, Bahaullah.
"The Seven Valleys continue with  the chapters on The Valley of Knowledge, where the seeker findeth "certitude"... and "the guiding light of the fear of God.". and where "he will set ajar the gate of truth and piety".."He in this station is content with the decree of God"..."He braketh the cage of the body and passions"..."He mounteth on the ladders of inner truth and hasteneth to the heaven of inner significance. He rideth in the ark of 'We shall show them Our sign in the regions and in themselves'..."And if he meeteth with injustice, he shall have patience, and if he cometh upon wrath, he shall manifest love."

"....There was once a lover who had sighed for long years in separation from his beloved, and wasted in the fire of remoteness. From the role of love, his heart was empty of patience and his body weary of his spirit; he reckoned life without her as a mockery, and time consumed him away. How many a day he found no rest in longing for her; how many a night the pain of her kept him from sleep; his body was worn to a sigh, his hearts wound had turned him to a cry of sorrow. He had given a thousand lives for one taste of the cup of her presence, but it availed him not. The doctors knew no cure for him, and companions avoided his company; yea, physicians have no medicine for one sick of love, unless the favour of the beloved deliver him.
At last, the tree of his longing yelded the fruit of despair, and the fire of his hope fell to ashes. Then one night he could live no more, and he went out of his house and made for the marketplace. On a sudden, a watchman followed after him. He broke into a run, with the watchman following;; then other watchmen came together, and barred every passage to the weary one.And the wretched one cried from his heart, and ran here and there, and moaned to himself:'Surely, this watchman is 'Izráíl, my angel of death, following so fast upon me; or he is a tyrant of men, seeking to harm me'. His feet carried him on, the one bleeding with the arrow of love, and his heart lamented. Then he came to a garden wall, and with untold pain he scaled it, for it proved very high; and forgetting his life, he threw himself into the garden.
And there he beheld his beloved with a lamp in her hand, searching for a ring she had lost. When the heart-surrendered lover looked on his ravishing love, he drew a great breath and raised up his hands in prayer, crying: 'O God! Give Thou glory to the watchman, and riches and a long life. For the watchman was Gabriel, guiding this poor one; or he was Isráfíl, bringing life to this wretched one!'Indeed, his words were true, for he had found many a  secret justice in this seeming tyranny of the watchman, and seen how many a mercy lay hid behind the veil. Out of wrath, the guard had led him who was athirst in love's desert to the sea of his loved one, and lit up the dark night of absence with the light of reunion. He had driven one who was afar, into the garden of nearness, had guided an ailing soul to the hearts physician."

I was one of those that fit into the Story of the Homecoming of the Lost Son, told by Jesus, and at my homecoming I found the Son having Come in the Glory of His Father, Bahaullah. And I was like this lover in Bahaullahs story
Such is my belief.
I would also like to say that this lover is also like the whole of mankind, which doesn't know were to go, surrounded by as many dangers as never has occurred. Finally, it is my belief, we will be forced to hold each others hands, chased by the manifold global disasters, across all borders ,   in order to survive and then there will be peace and cooperation, the basis in the gigantic work that lay ahead of us.The  building up of security, order  and welfare , both spiritual and material for all the worlds peoples. We Bahais believe "The World Order of Bahaullah" will be chosen and upheld for centuries to come and will be the basis of an ever-advancing peaceful world-civilization. World Peace will be inevitable. Such is the goal of mankind as envisaged by Bahaullah. See other thread on this subject: World Unity is the Goal.

Via the link you will find some of the early history of the Bahai Faith, especially film 2 and 4. And you will see some Bahais, ordinary people who have a great secret in their hearts.                                                                                       This Faith  was inaugurated in 1844, the very same year that the Jews started to come back, thus ending "the time of the gentiles", spoken of by Jesus.Permitted by the Edict of Toleration, established in 1844.  The year He would Return in" the Glory of His Father". Bahaullah means the Glory of God.
Bye for today, dear readers, keep the perspective wide always.
Have a good day.
