THE OLD TESTAMENT In the Old Testament, the fourth commandment states, "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work,....(Exodus 20:8-10). THE NEW TESTAMENT In the New Testament, it says, "There remains then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God. (Hebrews 4:9). The Holy Bible says for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His (Exodus 20:11; Hebrews 4:10; Genesis 2:2).
