The Bible says, If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do NOT be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God WILL CERTAINLY demand it of you....(Deuteronomy 23:21). Vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. (Psalm 66:14). ...Fulfill your vows to the Most High,...(Psalm 50:14). WARNING: There is an incident recorded in the Bible where a father made a vow to God which caused him the life of his only child/daughter. See, Judges 11:30-39,NIV).
