Hi Marilyn,
M. Jordan's quote is great.
When leading a hiking trail group ( recenty learned to do)
I always tell the hikers that there is more life in a dead tree than a live one.
Parks leave all dead trees, fallen limbs, etc as they are. They become homes for all the little creatures and places for unusual plants to grow. We look under logs to find worms, slugs, beetles and other insects living in the shelter of the log roof. Dead trees are great places for birds and animals like the racoon. Woodpecker, and bluebirds rely upon the decaying forest.
In our business we should ignore our failures but use them as Michael says to fuel our future efforts. It is a cycle just like the forest.
