I am interested in recipes for Smoothies.  They are the best summertime treat in the world!

Here are some I love!


*** Blueberry Blast Smoothie ***

Ingredients

1/2 c. cold non fat or 1 percent milk.

1/2 c. cold non fat plain yogurt.

1 c,. frozen blueberries (unsweetened).

1 tsp. honey.

Prep. Method

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Now enjoy!

*** Honeydew and Blueberry Freeze ***

An awesomely refreshing summer treat!

Ingredients;

1 c. honeydew melon chunks.

2 tsp. fresh mint leaves + additional for garnish.

16 oz. no fat plain yogurt.

3 Tbsp. sugar or substitute.

1 c. blueberries.

Preparation;

1. Place melon, mint, 1 c. of the yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of the sugar into blender and puree until smooth.

Transfer puree to plastic container.

Repeat with blueberries, remaining 1 c. yogurt, and remaining 2 tablespoons sugar and transfer to another plastic container.

2. Freeze purees for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals.

3. Remove from freezer a few minutes before serving.

Spoon mounds of each frozen puree into 4 glass dessert cups or wine glasses and garnish with mint leaves.

(If purees are too firm to serve, microwave on medium power to soften slightly, about 10 seconds.)

Makes 4 Servings

Per Serving: 140 cal, 8 g pro, 28 g carb, 0 g fat, 0 g sat fat, 5 mg chol, 1 g fiber, 120 mg sodium

Prep Time: 12 minutes

Chilling Time: 2 hours

*** Tropical Island Smoothie ***

2 servings

5 minutes total time:

This has the flavors of the tropics but isn't nearly as sweet as a piña colada.

Try adding 1/2 c. of unsweetened coconut milk if you want more of a tropical island flavor.

Ingredients;

1 c. frozen mango.

1 ripe banana, cut in thirds.

1 c. fresh or frozen pineapple chunks.

1 c. non fat vanilla yogurt.

1 c. orange or pineapple juice.

Preparation;

In a blender, combine mango, banana, pineapple, yogurt and juice.

Process until thoroughly blended and smooth.

Per serving: 305 calories (3% of calories from fat), 8 grams protein, 70 grams carbs, 4 grams fiber, 1 gram fat (trace saturated fat), 2 milligrams cholesterol, 82 milligrams sodium.

*** Icy Blue Smoothie ***

2 servings

5 minutes total time:

Ingredients

1/2 c. fresh or frozen pineapple chunks.

1/2 c. frozen peaches.

1/2 c. frozen blueberries.

1 Tbls. honey.

1 c. orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed.

1/2 c. apple juice.

1/2 c. crushed ice or ice cubes.

Pinch ground cinnamon.

Prep;

In a blender, combine all ingredients and process until blended and smooth.

215 calories - 3% from fat, 2g. protein, 53 g. carbs, 3 g. fibre, 1 g. fat, 0 cholesterol, 10 mg. sodium.

*** Very Cherry Chocolate Smoothie ***

2 servings

Total time: 5 minutes

1 c. frozen cherries.

1 ripe banana, cut in thirds.

3/4 c. nonfat plain yogurt.

1/4 c. apple juice.

2 Tbls. chocolate syrup.

In blender, again combine all ingredients until blended and smooth.

272 cals, 2% from fat, 7g. protein, 64 g. carbs, 1g. fat 2 mg. cholesterol, 78 mg. sodium.

*** The Super Smoothie ***

2 servings

5 minutes total time:

1 c. fresh or frozen pineapple chunks.

1/2 c. fresh or frozen blueberries.

1/2 c. fresh or frozen mango.

1/2 c. vanilla kefir drink

1 c. orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed.

1/8 c. Pomegranate juice or Goji juice.

1 cube frozen wheat grass, optional.

Combine all ingredients and process until blended and smooth.

170 cals - 10% from fat, 3g. protein,38g. carbs, 4g. fibre, 2g. fat, 0 cholesterol, 14mg. sodium.

Heah, these are great smoothies for breakfast, lunch and Dinner. I will keep this in mind for my diet habits. Thanks Alexia.

Smoothies are great for meal replacement (once a day) or a healthy snack. 
This is a great way to increase your fruit and vegetable intake.  Don't rule out vegetable smoothies!  Thanks for posting!
