Just like you I grew up in the deep south--Savannah, GA.  When it comes to education in this state they are still backwards.  They may now provide education for people with disabilities, but, if the teachers here are anything like my sister,--she doesn't even respect her own two sisters with disabilities--only that they should live at home and get a government check--what kind of teacher is she for her students.

I don't have to tell you I'm from Mississippi.  And my favorite dessert is Mississippi Mud Pie. 

And Davida, things like this, I'm sure happen all over the country. I would not say this is a southern issue. 

I, for one would say, this is more of a personal issue than southern issue. 

But to all my southern friends hope you know how great Adland is..  There are truly some wonderful people here.

To everyone who doesn't know,  Bj is my mother,  my neighbor, and my best friend :)

She is the one who invited me to Adland,  and I'm glad she did,  as I am meeting alot of wonderful people!

Hi Monica,

I live in Olive Branch, MS. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN but have lived in MS since May, 1999.

So glad my kids are going to school here instead of Memphis!!!

I'm not sure where Laurel is (hope I spelled it correctly), so where are you?
