Everyday Relationships-prt 6 of Colossians
5/23/2007 10:49:11 AM

Hello family as we continue to seek out about Pauls relations with the colossians, were going to focus on and compare our relations as apposed to then and read in Colossians 3:18-4:2. with Ephesians 5:21-6:9. Again short and brief/ What do all these things all have in common? 3.) Why is it so important that these relationships we are in, usually on a daily bases, be conducted so differently? 4.) How many of these are specifically addressed to you and how can you demonstrate the spirit that Paul describes in these relationships? (Realize the master/slave directives are parallel to employer/emplyee or teacher/student relationships.) 5.) Why does God give us instructions like this? What will be the results of obediance?

Hello Brother Thomas,

One thing Paul should have wrote about is getting enough sleep.  :)

I just read the Colosians scriptures.   I basically see Paul explaining the Ten Commandments in a Christian manner verus the old law.  Quite a job he has done too.  Paul gently speaks about how our lives can be free from all stress and worries by applying these principles... as directed from the Holy Spirit.  We should listen carefully because who would know better how to live the life of purity other than our God?

3)  We should live by these suggestions for the sake of living in harmony.  As I stated above, being a harmonous person others will treat you in a more harmonous manner also.

4)  No matter what we do:  work a job, be an employer, service customers... we should always remember that God warned us in Mathew 7:12 to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".  This even applies in this situation because I think about whatever I do to others, God may do unto me.

5)  "For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality." kind of says it all.

Thomas, I really enjoyed this lesson today.  Thanks!

Thomas,  this world would be a paradise for EVERYONE if everyone lived by these principles.  The understanding that many things God is asking us to do is not natural in this world.  When we live the natural way, things rarely work out for the best.  Folow God's way and have the best of days.
