Hello friends,
When I was at the Abraham-Hicks Art of Allowing workshop in Asheville, NC on May 6, Abraham was explaining why Esther Hicks is not in the extended version of The Secret movie.
At the end of the explanation, Abraham made a quick comment that in the extended version of The Secret the word gratitude was used in place of the word appreciation that Esther would have used and said something like, "and it's not the same thing."
It was my understanding that Abraham feels that Appreciation is a higher vibration word than Gratitude.
I found these definitions online...
Gratitude is a positive emotion which involves a feeling of emotional indebtedness towards another person, often accompanied by a desire to thank them or reciprocate a favor. Appreciation is an understanding of the nature or meaning or quality or magnitude of something. So, what is the difference in Gratitude and Appeciation? I posted a note about this to David Gordon's Abe YahooGroups discussion list and someone sent me this Abraham quote:
"Gratitude is a wonderful emotion, appreciation is 10 times better. Gratitude almost always points you toward the thing you've overcome. Appreciation aligns you with the source within you. They are very different vibrations." (San Rafael workshop 3/3/07)
I want to express the highest vibration possible, so I am making an effort to use "appreciation" where I might formerly have used "gratitude" - and it FEELS so much better.
Isn't that interesting?
What is YOUR perception of Appreciation v. Gratitude?
