I dont know that I perceive Adlands members as so much afraid of getting involved.  I think most of the involvement here that I have seen are those gun-ho promoting what they're into... that hasnt changed! lol.. I agree those involved need the same spirit you have.  You are a visionary person and you can see forrest past the trees.  I think with helping this along and everyone doing their part, just helping one person at a time will make all the difference in the world. 

I'm glad for your invite.  I think you are definitely making a difference, It's not a matter of you just 'blowing your horn' because I get the notion you do what you say you will and you mean what you say.  That is awesome -so, never quit that... this community needs more of you!

There are some very special people here on adland.  When I read about them in the potw write ups, I have to say I respect and admire the strides they've taken to get where they are.

I think for purposes of your discussion here, a really great thing for the 'food for thought or food for the day forum' is some instructions on just exactly what it is you're looking to get from this wonderful community.  I think you will definitely, if you havent already, shake things up in a great way!  Thank you for your positive outlook, it really does help all of us!
