Hi Kenneth,
I'm a firm believer of affiliate based programs. Everything
on my website at WhyleeKyotee are affiliate items.
I sell nothing direct. There are outlets for that type thing with eBay and similar websites. Using affiliate programs is
an easy way to generate income. I don't have any inventory I have to keep on hand, no shipping, no returns, no credit card fraud to worry about, no outrageous fee's for the handling of a credit card sale.
Now that being said, there is affiliate theft going on and it has for years. They change the link, remove your affiliate ID and use theirs etc. There are programs to mask your links but if they want to they can get around those. So using nothing it's a crap shoot and you win some and lose some. But when a sale is made your commission is forthcoming with little or few charge backs. There are only a handful of companies which do that.
But in the digital or Intellectual product industry it's worse. Todays trend as far as thieves goes to buying the product and then turning around and immediately ask for a refund. They then have your product, which you can't get back, and you have no income from the sale because you've refunded the money. There is a newly released product on the market which I sell from my website which gives you the capability of locking down a copy of the product after the purchase just to stop this.
So YES I use affiliate product. The income is less than if I sold my own, but it's a much cleaner, and simpler way to do business.
Jude
