Ahh Thomas you ask these questions that on the surface would seem so simple to answer and maybe for some  it would be easy...lol..typical me..not me..so many have had an impact on me..what a hoot even my cat Bailey..I think for me there is one person who in a way shaped me if you will..June..more like a "real' mom..she accepted me as i was and taught me to learn from everybody and to be true to myself..she taught me the meaning of friendship..love and that it was to be ok with yourself..she made me feel so special and loved..She had a favorite song..that explains it all.."I did it my way"..and yep she sure did and so do i...i am proud of that..big time..in fact her favorit expression was "i am me"..you know what??..i am me!

peace and light to you..have a day where you can laugh..

Hey Thomas,

Wow!  When I read your question above, my entire life passed before me... EVERYTHING in my life has impacted my life.  Life has a compounding effect.  Thanks for starting this up... makes a person reflect upon an important aspect of our lives... life itself!

My parents were a major impact on my life and continue keeping me aware of honor and respect and love.

I look back at a time in my life that taught me patience... milking cows by hand twice a day for years.

I remember walking door to door as a 10-14 year old selling my Grit newspaper, seeds, and holiday cards... that taught me about people and being persistent.

I remember driving farm tractors tilling up one section pastures for 12 hours a day... taught me how to endure the moments.  I would have rather been swimming, arrow head hunting or riding my horse, but the job needed to be done.

I remember my life being impacted from Saturday nights playing board games with my Mom.  Dad was always working and my siblings were off with their friends.  I learned how to manage the important things in life and how to have fun.

I remember being taught about sacrifice, forgiveness and true love and being baptized.

Every day in the Army impacted my life.  I grew up quickly and became a man that understood responsibility, loyalty, how to listen and follow orders, how to be healthy and strong, to be a sharp thinker, how to be dependable... hup 2, 3... Saw parts of the world I would never have had the opportunity before.

When I was married, I learned what commitment and unconditional love was all about.  AND, I found out how true honey-do lists can impact your life too.  :)

My life was greatly impacted when that crying 9lb 8oz 21in. bundle of life was placed in my hands.  And, then how that crying 8lb 6oz 21in. bundle of precious little tinkie pinkie of a girl was placed in my arms.  I can't explain the impact from my children.  But, it has been fantastic!

Finding Adland has been a major impact on my life.  I've never been involved with such an organization of delightful, excited, intelligent, loving, friendly people in all my life.  I won't even attempt a list of those who have impacted me here.  Okay, you can find a list at the 89th POTW forum.  Well, some anyway, about the same number of folks privately messaged me that week.  That was quite an impact for me.  Thank you my friends.

Finding X2O impacted my life greatly.  It has helped me resolve my chronic bleeding dry sinuses.  Without the pain, it has impacted my life in turn has impacted my family's life.

The writings of Dr. Wayne Dwyer, Mr. Tuttles, Robert Heinlein, Louis Lamour, Yoda, Sgt. Garcia, the Apostle Paul,  Jim Rohn... and many more I can't think of at the moment:

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" ~ Wayne Dwyer

"Try not.  Do or do not, there is no try" ~ Yoda

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world: indeed its the only thing that ever has!" - Margaret Mead  (introduced to me by my business partner Terry Gorley)

I could write all day about how each thing in my life has impacted my life, but... I need to go have some more experiences.  I guess I yearn for things to impact my life.

I thank God for the hardest experiences in my life... times when it seemed my world had totally crumbled and I had nothing left to reach for except God, these times have given me the strength to get through ANY adversity.

If I didn't know what it was like to have nothing... how could I truly appreciate anything??

THANKS BE TO GOD!!

I humbly pray my adland friends. Bless all of you! Thanks for the interesting forums I'm sure enjoying a lot of great interactive reading on here.

Hi Thomas,

A lot depends upon what era you born into.

For me, I was born in Oct 1929..the Wall Street

Crash and the next ten years of the big depression..

Hard times and poverty..It made me a survivor..

Anyone born after WWll..it's a whole new ball game..
