Mail-order commission ads are sometimes given out for free, or sometimes for a very low cost such as only a few dollars. We either give our affiliates a master copy that they can make copies from, or supply them with enough ads for a month. If they usually send mail to 100 people monthly anyway, they just include our ads in their outgoing mail. The goal is to have dozens of people mailing out ads for us so they can rake in some dollars to cut their own mailing costs, the prime source gets our ads sent to other peoples active lists without having to mail them ourselves, and both parties get the names and addresses of interested customers, we both save on postage, and we both earn more money. There's also the credibility factor on both sides, for the affiliates and the prime sources, we find out who's trustworthy and hardworking, and it promotes good business relationships.
