WELL SAID, Kathy! When I saw the subject line in the email my mind went wild and I said, "I have to be part of this forum. Then I read what you wrote and it is EXACTLY my thoughts. What we leave behind is the most important life long work that we do.
I have taught that academic awards are nice but should be expected. And the awards that really count are the Humanitarian awards. I have taught my children, then grand children and now great grandchildren (6 mos and 3 years old) that you can never put forth enough kindness, humility, tenacity, and community service. I have taught them to never give up. I've taught them that failing to plan is planning to fail. I have taught them about God and the Love he pours out on us every day in every way. When I think of my Grandma and how she loved me I always thank God for her. My hope is that my heirs will always think of me as an important positive part of their lives and that they will give to their heirs as it was giving to them, fully and completely all that we have every day and in every way.
