That Old Saying-Death and Taxes?
4/13/2007 9:26:17 AM
One thing for sure that we all know, although we don't like to talk
about it, is that we don't get out of this life without failing at one
of the most fundamental human tasks -- keeping our bodies alive. It's
like the old joke -- only two things are certain in this life, death
and taxes. Laugh about it with false bravado, try to improve it,
pretend it won't happen to us, but none of these things change the
facts.

Where can we get the power to face death in a way that gives meaning to
our lives?

Your life can have purpose and meaning!

Where does a person get hope and purpose and the courage to deal with
adversities in his or her life?

The apostle Paul wrote:

"Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?"
... How we thank God, who gives us victory over sin and death
through Jesus Christ our Lord! (1 Corinthians 15:54-57 NLT)

You can share in the victory over death that gives life forever. Your
life can have purpose and your life can have meaning when it is lived
beyond yourself -- when it's lived in his kingdom and for his purposes.
Jesus' resurrection does more than just ensure that our lives don't end
with death, it also means we have the power and purpose to live life
today!

Well Nick with a choice like that? you must be joking. But its a good question just the wrong options, of course we all would be like Jesus if we could but we cant and will never be perfect no thanks to the other one. If i did have a choice of the Apostles though? I would pick Timothy, he was a true follower in the truest sence, always , the Apostle Pauls instruction to him to lead is what i've been dreaming of since baptism 8 years ago. So his example to follow then to lead is what i try to do. Lead by example which i told Kathy Hamilton tonight. Next week i'll get you some more lessons to take a look at. Thanks for the pictures Nick you always have a knack at things like that.
