Hi Jason,

Thanks for inviting me to post. A friend of mine sent me a interesting article. I would like to share with you.

I found this great article (not written by me-author unknown) and thought i'd pass it on to you.

HOW TO AVOID SPAMMING!!

Mainly look at who your ads are being sent to.

1. If they are being sent to complete strangers,
new prospects that you've not had dealings with before,
then your ad should not mention the program, but rather ask
them to request the information from you.
Once you receive this request, take a note of the email address and first name (at least),
and store them in a file (preferably a Group Mailer).
You can then email these people back (because they are now an optin lead)
and advise your website details, etc.....

2. If they are being sent to your previously spoken to clients, no problem.

3. If they are members of the same club or program as you, and cross promotion is permitted,
again no problem.

IMPORTANT:

It is imperative to avoid SPAMMING that you include a DISCLAIMER CLAUSE
at the foot of every email you send out.
(Safelist advertising has its own so no need for one there).

The Disclaimer Clause should say something to the effect:

DISCLAIMER: This email cannot be considered SPAM as you have previously
requested information from me.

or

DISCLAIMER: This e-mail is sent in compliance with strict anti-abuse and NO SPAM regulations.
Your address was collected as a result of either posting to a link, a free classified ad,
or you have sent me your business proposition by e-mail in the past.
Under Bill S1618 TITLE III, passed by the 105th US Congress, this message
cannot be considered SPAM as long as there is a way to be removed, paragraph(a) (c) of S. 1618.

or

DISCLAIMER: Please refer to www.spamlaws.com/federal/hr3113.html
This message is sent in compliance with
the pending new Email bill, Section 301. paragraph (a) (2) (c) of S.1618.

It is also imperative to avoid SPAMMING that you include a REMOVAL CLAUSE at the foot
of every email you send out. (Again safelists are not necessary to do this with).

The Removal Clause should say something to the effect:

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS: If you no longer wish to receive emails from me,
please click "Reply" to this email, and type or copy and paste
in the subject area - REMOVE ME FROM YOUR EMAIL LIST.

You may like to categorize your Email list, to relate it to your own lists.
I have several different lists, I always categorize the list.

Check out that you don't SPAM.

If you would like information on any of these:

1. Test drive and watch the explosion!
2. Free personal development education
3. Help for your GDI business
4. The hottest money maker going
5. Unique suite of online marketing tools

Send me an email with your request to send more information and I will send you the link (s) that you request.

Hi Thanks for coming by and posting the info and excellent advice on staying out of spam trouble.

You'd never want to go to the trouble to build a large group of affiliates or downline and get cancelled for spamming when you are making good $

Use autoresponders to eleminate spam trouble, everyone self subscribes!

Here's 2 of the best, I use Getresponse for anything that is not on my main site (which has built in responders and a server based email system)

http://easy-promoter.com/r/getresponse/

http://easy-promoter.com/r/aweber/

Both offer good free affiliate plans so you can sell a few and then go get the paid pro versions with no out of pocket!

These are good and you will never be accused of spamming. If you ever have been accused of spamming you know it is very serious, and can be fatal to your business!

Jason,

Thank you. I have been following your post for today. You are doing a great job in alerting those of us of the dangers that exist online. If you dont want to fall in a serious setback it is wise to do research before marketing some of the offer that you get from friends or from anyone for that matter.

The problem with most marketer we are so busy trying to make money we over look a lot of the pitfalls in  how and where to advertise our business online.

I've tried dozens of methods and hundreds of resources and some have been (bad) some good. Actually, I'm a bit of a cheapskate when it comes to marketing. But I also realize that in order to succeed in business, you must spend SOME money advertising. The rule I set for myself is that 1. Get a handle on how well your site does its selling. I make sure that I add a status tracker, it all about numbers (do a little math) you are after just one number how many visitor come to your site or how much you should pay for a visitor. 2. Dont alienate you prospects with lengthy emails, offend them with a lot of hyped information, the clearer you are with your decription of your business, the more likely you'll be successful in getting the contacts need.

I've been hearing from lots of folks who have been struggling with getting their business going online. If you are in that group, rest assured you are not alone.

To your success,

Christine Jackson
