Hi Greg,
I think I like to help people even more now than I did as in my 25 years as an IT support person. Even better I get to be at home with my kids while I do it.
The pay here is bit better too. Here's why helping is second nature to me.
I started right out of high school (18 and crazy) at the company my Dad worked at. Used to be called Datacrown Inc. Was there for about 5 years - they downsized and I got layed off
Then moved to the "Bank of Canada" - (like us federal reserve but Canadian of course) for over 16 years - got outsourced to EDS
Then stayed at EDS or Electronic Data Services for over 6 years
(over 100,000 thousand employees worldwide)
I've answered and helped literally 10's of thousands of users through support calls and tickets.
It's been a while so I may be getting a little rusty now.
PS:
Layoffs and downsizing where all good, because of the good packages I got each time it was like i could go have a nice paid vacation or new motorcyle each time when I found a new job. This time it was start an internet business instead!
But the last time was enough, now I work for me, and you if you need MEP support.
The system is pretty easy to use so I don't get to speak with as many of you as I'd like to.
Bad in a good way I suppose
OK I'm rambling from lack of sleep.
Thanks for dropping by and letting me bore you with my story !
