FOR THE PAST five years Boulder's Ted Kennedy has provided
opportunities for ultra-fit corporate titans to swim, run and bike in
CEO Ironman Challenges around the world, culminating with a world
championship in Hawaii. Now he's applying the same model to golf, a
game he believes is "the ultimate CEO event." CEO Golf Challenge events
will take place during this year's four Majors, with each event's top
four to six qualifiers invited to compete in the CEO Golf Challenge
World Championship. For each competition, the deal includes lodging,
food, entertainment, and two-day tournament on Thursday and Friday with
colleagues, a Saturday round with PGA professionals, and a VIP pass to
the Major event. Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C., will host the event
during the Masters; GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, N.Y., during
the U.S. Open; De Vere Carden Park near Chester, England, during the
British Open; and Royal Melbourne Country Club and The Glen Club, both
outside Chicago, during the PGA Championship. Fees for the events range
from $7,000 to $12,000. Kennedy has also inked a deal to co-produce the
event as a reality television series. Ted Kennedy Interviewed by the Everyman Triathlon Blog
