Hi Marilyn,

To love the lovely and the loving is easy. It just seems to come naturally and when the offer of friendship is accepted and given in return the world seems to be a wonderful place.

To love the not so lovely and the unloving person is very hard.  It doesn't seem to be an automatic part of human nature.  It is hard to hug a porcupine when all those sharp quills get in the way.  It is hard to reach someone at a deeper level when they are unwilling to come out from behind stone cold walls.

But that is where the example of the Divine comes into play.  Love doesn't stop loving just because it is not easy.  Love never fails, it only seems that way sometimes.
