He Is Dead (Nick)
1/26/2007 11:14:44 AM

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was
71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, and the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 350 for about 20 minutes.

If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone else who may be having a crumby day and kneads it.

Wow!  When I recovered from reading the title of the forum (He is Dead (Nick)), I read the sad news about the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Most people would have died much sooner if they had been poked that many times.  Strange, I would think that he would have smudges on his tummy from having been poked that often.  Perhaps they dusted flour on him after each poke.

Being near so much heat may have compromised his immune system.  More likely, the yeast did this.

I was glad to learn that he was not cremated.  It was nice that he was rolled out so viewers could have a final look.

I plan to do something at lunch today in his memory.  Perhaps have a pastry, if I can find one that tastes great, has few calories, no sugar, and no food additives.  (I think that I just created sort of an oxymoron in the last sentence.)

Mourningly yours,

Lawton

Hello Nick

You have got to be kidding me. Humor about such an icon of our times. I for one find it very difficult to deal with the loss of someone so special in a humorous way. Doughboy was a part of my life that I will cherish forever and I truly mourn his demise. It probably has not occured to you but, there are those of us who are still in mourning over this loss and need a little more time to complete the grieving process before we can induldge ourselves in humor regarding this loss. PLease try to be a little more considerate of the feelings of those who are still mourning . I think you should have waited at least until the timer went off indicating that doughboy was truly done before you started poking fun at his demise. I mean after all, wasn't it just this type of poking that help lead him to his destiny. I know that doughboy has forgiveness in his heart for you though. He will rise again, in spirit , and prove that he was the dough that you didn't know and you will never know no mo.
