Hello, my friends!!
This is your weekly update on my Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk fundraising and training efforts.
I have ordered walk shirts for my team to wear during training and on our walk. We sold advertising space on the back of the shirts, and the money collected was donated 100% to the walk (in other words, I did not deduct anything for the cost of the shirts, or for printing & set-up). We ordered extra shirts (T-shirts with the same imprint, not tanks) to sell (the price is $16.00 each, and if interested, just e-mail me at 3daywalker@cfl.rr.com ).The back of the shirt also contains the names of who we are walking in honor and in memory of. The walk tank shirts are pictured below:
Last weekend was a big training weekend for the team. We are repeating last Sunday's walk this Sunday at 5:30am. We walk every day, but the long training walks are reserved for the weekends because we don't have time to do a long walk and get ready for work! We go at a very brisk pace (about a 14 minute mile), but due to the need for hydration and for "pit stops" the most we can do is 4 miles in an hour. This means that a 16 mile training walk takes a minimum of 4 hours for the walk itself, and we are doing that, plus more, each Saturday & Sunday. It takes dedication to get up at 4am on a weekend, so you can get your walk in and still have time for family and your regular weekend chores (laundry, food shopping, housework, etc). Basically, training around work makes for a very busy schedule.
My current donation total is $675.00, which means I have $1,525.00 to go. For those of you who have supported me with a donation, your generosity is deeply appreciated. For anyone else reading this update, if you could spare just $5.00 or more (that's about the cost of a cup of gourmet coffee at a gourmet shop), I know I would make my fundraising goal. Donations can be made at my walk website at:

All donations are tax deductible and a copy of our 501c3 is available should you require a copy.
I am sure that many of you have many more e-mail contacts than I do. I would deeply appreciate it if you could pass along this update!
It takes hope, courage, faith and love to battle this disease and to commit to this walk. I can promise each of you that I will continue to walk until this disease is eradicated.
Thank you for your continued support and have a healthy, happy 2007!
Take care,
JeanMarie
