Do you know who Brian Tracy is? I am sure many of us here, that have been on the Internet and doing Network Marketing for a while now, will know exactly who Brian is. Brian Tracy is well known on the Internet for giving speeches, writing books, giving seminars, etc on subjects such as, Goals, How To Be Successful on the Internet, Positive & Successful Thinking, just to name a couple.
Brian wrote about "The Parables of Talents", which talks about the primary reasons why some people are wealthy while others live in poverty. This principle is talked about in the Bible and it says, "To him that hath, shall more be given, and he shall have abundance. But from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away." What exactly does that mean? Well, in today's language we would put it this way, "The rich get richer, while the poor keep getting poorer."
Why does this happen? The great success principle, the single idea that explains human destiny is simple. It says that, "you become what you think about, most of the time." So, to explain this more precisely it basically means that we must learn to control our thoughts.
Whatever we choose to dwell upon shall become our reality. You create your entire world by the things you choose to think about and how you choose to think about them. That's a very interesting and powerful statement...we CAN choose our own destiny then, this is basically saying, by simply dwelling on what we want our life to be like! WOW!
Did you know that wealthy, successful people fill their minds with thoughts, words, pictures and images of wealth, affluence, success, productivity and solutions to problems in the marketplace, most of the time. These thoughts trigger the part of the brain that makes you more alert and sensitive to things that you have decided are important to you.
Here's an example of what this means; if you decide to invest in a mutual fund, you will start to see news and information about mutual funds everywhere. Mentions in newspapers and magazines will jump out at you. These notices have always been there but now you have sensitized your brain to pick them up and draw them to your attention with far greater frequency and vividness. That is truy amazing...and all we had to do was to dwell on something positive that we wanted for our life.
On the otherhand, unsuccessful people tend to fill their minds with thoughts of scarcity, lack, poverty, being unable to afford things. They are always thinking and talking about how little money they have, how much things cost and how they wish things could be better financially.
So what needs to be done now is to alter our way of thinking in order to become successful! How do we go about doing that? If you want to become successful, find out what failures do and don't do it. If you want to be wealthy, find out what less wealthy people think about, and avoid thinking in those ways. Instead, find out how wealthy people think. Find out what they read. Find out how they spend their time. Study their lives, read their stories and autobiographies and listen to their words when they are interviewed and on tape. The more you find out what financially successful people think and talk about most of the time, and do the same things, the more rapidly you will enjoy the same rewards that they do. That makes sense doesn't it? Now, what do we need to do next to get this started?
Here are two things you can do to put this "Parable of The Talents" into action:
First, make a decision today that from now on you will think and talk only about the financial success that you desire. At the same time, you must refuse to talk about, or dwell upon your financial problems. Tell yourself that you are successful! It does not matter whether you have achieved the success that you want yet. Are you lying to yourself by doing that? No, you are retraining your mind to think like a successful person now!
Think about the things that you want, such as, a nice new home, a fancy car, a cruise to the Bahamas. Whatever it is that you desire you want to get some pictures of those items from a magazine or something, and cut them out! Take the pictures and post them where you can see them constantly...above your computer, on the refrigerator, etc. Then when you are seeing them all the time this will be a constant reminder to do what you need to do to achieve those things!
Second, instead of saying, "I can't afford it," instead ask the question, "How can I afford it?" When you think of something that you want or need that you don't have the money for at the time, the only question you ask is, "How?" How can you get it? What can you do to achieve it? What are your options? How can you get from where you are to where you want to go? This type of attitude will change your life.
Think POSITIVE and you will be successful, but if you keep a negative mindset negativity is what you will get! Good luck to you!
God Bless You,
Marilyn
