TENTH EDITION - WOMEN OF COURAGE
1/8/2007 9:01:20 AM

John Elliott and Luella May welcome you to the Tenth Edition of

Women of Courage

Each week we will honor a woman that has truly made a difference by her
contributions, courage, love, and selflessness. Women honored will be chosen from inside AdlandPro, outside AdlandPro, living in the present, and yes, we will not forget those heroines that paved the way for the freedoms we now enjoy.   We will honor women who have shown tremendous courage and fortitude against all odds.

Assisting us in coordinating these awards are four outstanding ladies who are Women of Courage in their own right.

Presenting:

WE PRESENT TO YOU OUR TENTH

WOMAN OF COURAGE

Linda Harvey

http://community.adlandpro.com/go/sweetprofits/default.aspx

Linda harvey is a lady with a big heart.  In this world we have two classes of people.  The first are "Takers" caring solely about themselves.  The second class are known as "Givers," those who, without a thought about their own needs, give freely of their love and lives to others.  I am proud to feature this wonderful lady who is indeed a "Giver."

Below is an article written by our very own Carla Cash.

Besides being a fantastic network marketer, Linda Harvey is a Woman of Courage.  Linda retired early due to injuries caused while working with special needs children.

Even after having her own children, Linda always knew that she wanted to give children in need a  loving home.  Her heart had a spot just ready to adopt that special child.

Linda started out as a teacher.  This gave her a small amount of exposure to  lives of foster children.

Following her heart, Linda spent eight years in therapy trying to stablize children that had undergone emotional trauma, sometimes developing into different types of disorders.  Over an eight year period, Linda worked with 12 foster children.  She proudly states, "I don't regret doing it." Among some of the conditions that these children suffered from were autism, traumatic brain injuries, and spina bifida.  Linda's dream came true when she adopted an older special needs child that was considered unadoptable.  She worked through many issues while raising her.

Getting these children just to finish high school was a major challenge, and Linda Harvey was up to that task.  All the children came to her with just the clothes on their backs and many suffered from malnutrition.

Linda has given her heart to all types of children.  At times she cared for just one child.  Usually though, there were several foster children in-house.  Then there were those that were there just for respite.  She states, "I miss having them around."

Linda retired in 2003 to undergo physical therapy.  She could no longer take care of these children.

Talking with Linda, I found that she has a sense of humor, something she never lost while facing these challenges.  She lives in New Mexico with her 24 year old son who is a student/EMT.  Linda says that she loves the weather and scenery in that part of the country.

Linda currently promotes her online businesses and dreams of traveling throughout the country.

I hope you have all enjoyed learning more about Linda.  Please stop by and give her your congratulations for being our Woman of Courage this week!
