Happy Holidays - A Christmas story from Linda
12/24/2006 1:26:43 AM

Hello dear friends,

As I sit here the clock has just turned past midnight to Christmas Eve where I am here in Michigan, USA.

My husband and I just enjoyed an evening of fellowship and playing cards with our best friends and card buddies Jill and Lee.  We always have a great time.

Before I go to bed and wake up tomorrow to prepare for visiting with our family here in Michigan and then driving overnight to spend Christmas Day and the following week with my family in North Carolina...

I want to tell you a little Christmas story that happend with my mother-in-law this week.

My husband and one of his brothers decided that this year for Christmas they would give their mother new carpet for her living room and new flooring for her kitchen.

She has problems breathing and is on oxygen 24 hours a day.  The very old carpet in her home was breaking down and the fibers were not good for her to breathe.  Her kitchen has been bare cement for several years and very much needed to have a covering applied.

So my husband Dennis and I went to Home Depot and arranged for someone to go out to her home to measure the floors to give us an estimate on the installation.

We were told that they would not be able to install vinyl flooring in the kitchen because the cement floor was not level, with a couple of "humps" that would cause the linoleum to crack.

We didn't understand that completely; however, we had no choice other than to accept their decision.

So we made arrangements for the carpet to be installed this past Wednesday.

On Monday we spent the day removing furniture and helping her clean out a lot of old stuff in her house, including at least 1000 books - yes, 1000 books.  She has been saving those books for years, some at least 20 years.

It was a big decision for her and a great relief for us to see her get rid of that clutter.  Even if she did not understand the significance of removing the clutter, I knew it would make her feel better.

On Monday evening we went into Home Depot to make the final arrangements for the installation.  When we mentioned that we were disappointed that flooring could not be installed in the kitchen, the sales agent looked at our records in the computer and said they WOULD install flooring in the kitchen and that the person who told us that had made a mistake.

Wow, that was a wonderful surprise.

However, the sales agent said that she does not stock the vinyl flooring in the store and did not even have samples, so we would have to go to another location to pick out the pattern.

Then she said, "Oh, I have just two sample here in my desk that I forgot about.  She pulled and the samples and one of them was exactly what we wanted."  So we did not have to travel to another location after all.

So, then we paid for the flooring and asked if it could be installed the same day as the carpet.

We were told that two different people would need to install the carpet and vinyl flooring and they were not both available that same day.

That meant that the vinyl flooring in the kitchen would not be intalled until the week after Christmas.  She would not have her new kitchen floor for all her family visiting for Christmas.

I said matter of factly to my husband that I EXPECT the installer to have a cancellation and I INTEND to receive a call informing us that her carpet and kitchen flooring can be installed the sAME DAY.

And then I let it go.  I actually forgot about it and got busy helping her organize and clean our more stuff from her home.

The vinyl flooring installer was scheduled to call us on Tuesday to arrange for installation the week after Christmas.  When he had not called by the afternoon, my husband called Home Depot to inquire.  He was given the phone number of the intaller to call him directly.

However, before Dennis could dial the number the phone rang and it WAS the installer.

Guess what!  Yes, you guessed it!

The installer was calling to say that he had a cancellation and that he in fact ALSO installs carpet, so he will be installing both the carpet and vinyl flooring on the SAME day, Wednesday before Christmas.

My husband said "You are an angel."

So all the flooring has been installed, a lot of clutter has been removed and my mother-in-law is living in a cleaner and healthier environment.

We are grateful for the opportunity to do this for her and also very grateful for the cooperation of the divine spirit whom I am sure arranged for all the flooring to be installed the same day.

Well, that's my little Christmas story.  The lesson is that you don't have to accept what you don't want to be, do or have.  YOU have the power to EXPECT and INTEND what you want.

When you are clear about your intentions and you expect the results you desire, you will receive it.

Thank you that was great.  Merry Christmas.
I got tired of struggling to succeed in building my business. It's frustrating doing things that don't work, time and time and time again. So I searched and searched. I found resources that could help me and others. Do you know anyone else who might need

Hi Linda,

I've learned the power of manifestation to the point that where I can almost manifest at will. The power of thought is simply amazing. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. God bless!
