I think it's safe to say that forums are effective. Look at us, we're all posting in forums here at Adland Pro and getting signups for our programs as well as making lots of good friends.

Here's another great forum I found where you can get credits to have your ads rotated all around the forum pages, and you get credits for everything you do, so it's really effective. Plus you get to rub elbows with a lot of the top earners in the industry.
