If any of us had to earn our way into heaven, we would all be in big trouble. Salvation was bought for us for a big price that we could never repay no matter how good we are or how hard we try. And it's given to use for free, all we have to do is accept it. Once we accept this gift we're given even more gifts from our Father who offers us an abundant life full of hope and love.
Just like any father he expects us to obey him. When we are under obedience to our Father we can ask him anything believing and he will give it to us IF it's his will for us to have what we ask for.
He knows our hearts and minds, so He knows what we will do with what he gives to us, so his answer may be no, or wait a while. But he never gives us more than we can handle. we might ask for riches, a large amount of money, or a big house, but if we're not good with money, he might not give it to us.
At the same time, we might think that we're being given bad things, but a father won't give his child a stone when he asks for a fish, and God is no different. He meets our needs, but not always our wants. And sometimes we may feel like we're suffering or doing without things we want because God doesn't love us, but that's not the case. It's probably just that we wouldn't be able to handle it.
If we make it a practice to seek him and his will in all things, he will reward us with more of the things we want and need. He knows what these things are and will provide them for us.
Have you ever thought that you just couldn't stand the situation for one more minute when right then everything got better? He is always on time. He catches us right at the very moment when we think we're going to hit the rock bottom.
So if we're his children we should never worry. Just keep your eyes on him and know that He is there for you.
