On the lighter Side
10/2/2006 8:02:23 PM

I just sent this to Linda but I thouht you might all enjoy it.

I was teaching a group of 8 year olds when we started taking prayer requests; I told of a particular difficult situation that needed Gods divine intervention, and asked the class what they thought of the situation. One extremely bright student just brought the situation down to its lowest level when she said - “It sucks!"

I was just about to correct her for using such a negative statement when all of a sudden she got this deeply "spiritual" look on her face. I knew we were using too much of the KJV when she said, “I shouldn't have said, "It sucks!" should I?” Thinking she was mending her ways she she blew me away when she very sincerely said, “I should have said, “It sucketh!"

That happened to me a couple of years ago - try to have a prayer meeting after that! I mean I lost it! :-)

I always figured if I was short on cash I could send that in to Readers Digest.

I've always enjoyed a good "clean" joke and if it is on me, the laugh is twice as good. This happened when I was a very young wife and mother.

While waiting for the bank manager to call, the phone rang; I answered it and the gentleman on the other end introduced himself. Assuming this to be the bank manager, I began to tell my story of what had happened to me at his bank. I was not at all happy and made sure this gentleman understood than in no uncertain terms I expected him to correct the problem a hand and do it in a very timely manner. When I finished my tirade a very meek voice on the other end of the line said, “I take it this isn’t the Central Norton Baptist Church?”

Enjoy!
