Let me introduce the most awesome group of team mates anyone could ever have! Not only are they my very good friends, but I also have the pleasure of working with them to bring this forum to all of you, each and every week;

and myself;

Here are the qualifications that will be used in the selection of each honoree. People that are selected will be recognized based on:

1. Acts of kindness that they show to their fellow man.

2. Must be willing to help others, and treat people in a kindly manner.

3. Have a good-hearted nature, and shows it through all that they do.

4. Must be a positive role model, and set a good example

5. Must be professional, avoids negativity, and promotes success through faith and hard work

So, if you know of anyone here at AdlandPro that are not necessarily "high profile" people per say, and that don't get the recognition that they deserve, let us know. We will be helping to get people recognized that should be *A SHINING STAR*. All nominations must be in by Saturday and please tell us why you believe the person deserves to be recognized.

The meaning of the name MICHAEL;

The name Michael comes from the Hebrew name 'מִיכָאֵל' (Mikael) which meast "who is like God?".

Biblical and historical:
1) Michael is the name of one of the seven archangels in Hebrew tradition and the only one identified as an archangel in the Bible.
2) Michael in the Book of Revelation (NT) is portrayed as the leader of heaven's armies, and thus is considered the patron saint of soldiers.
3) Michael was the name of nine Byzantine emperors.
4) Michael a czar of Russia.
5) Mikhail Gorbachev, last Soviet leader.

Here is MICHAEL'S bio;

I am a native Washingtonian. Born in DC way back in 1959 (yeah, I know, I'm old) grew up and attended school in Maryland. Never was happy unless I was acting on some entrepreneurial project. Even at the age of 8 I was knocking on doors selling flower seeds or a newspaper called GRIT for a quarter (I kept .12 commission). Took some tech school training out of high school but that wasn't my cup of tea. I got into sales at the ripe old age of 20 and never looked back.

Though easily discouraged with other fields I have withstood some serious fall backs and never lost my interest in selling something. I remember one of my first sales jobs was with a company called X-Stamper. This was back when the self inking stamps we now buy from the office store hit the market and was sold face to face.

These 2 guys from New York who looked like gangsters (hat and all) and had  the lingo to match came into town to train me. They took me into an office unannounced, the man threw his briefcase up on a lady's desk, opens it and begins stamping away as he goes through his sales pitch. I couldn't believe my eyes! How rude! I was so embarrased but not as much as when we were thrown out. I simply got in my car drove off and they never heard from me again. But that didn't kill my spirit and it was then that I realized that I was some sort of natural born sales person.

Now, after working in sales for over 20 years for someone else, marrying my wife of 19 years and having 2 lovely daughters (in braces) I realized that I needed to be in charge of my own destiny. So I took my passion for graphic design along with my fixation for business cards (I collect them) and started Better Business Cards. Worked hard at it for a year and then put up a website. With all the first hand experiences I have had over the years I believe I have learned how to treat the customer and feel that is why I have been successful to this point.

Also, over the past 2 years I have joined only a couple of communities, Adland was the first. I have watched, learned and made friends. I have watched these friends find success and benefited from their desire to see others do the same. In fact I was talking to an Adland friend last night on the phone who called me so excited over her recent successes. When we met she was going through rough times and now she is in charge of her life. Nothing motivates one more than seeing it for ones self. You can do it! Just put GOD first, family second and the rest will fall into place if you don't give up and your desire is properly motivated. I don't believe we are judged by what we do so much as "why" we do it.
