To all my lady friends at Adland! A woman I know thought she had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and no known treatment worked until she saw a specialist in toxins. This is what she had!

Background on MCS

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is a chronic, recurring disease that can occur in response to low levels of exposure to multiple unrelated chemicals, with symptoms in multiple organ systems. People with MCS are generally hypersensitive to low levels of chemicals found in everyday substances, such as household cleaning agents, pesticides, fresh paint, new carpeting, synthetic building materials, newsprint, and perfume. MCS has been a controversial and poorly understood condition. Not all in the medical community even agree that MCS exists. Some consider MCS to be a psychiatric illness or allergic condition.

Persons with MCS report a range of symptoms that often include headaches, rashes, asthma, depression, muscle and joint aches, fatigue, memory loss, and confusion. Their symptoms improve or resolve when they avoid exposure to the offending chemicals/products.

Hello, Nick!

My doctor and I have long known about my sensitivity to various chemicals.  Dad also has the same problem.  I just was never given the name for it.

I don't wear perfumes unless they are essential oil based (natural).  I also don't use Glade, Airwick or those other smelly things...I actually have to clean my house to keep it smelling nice.  I have to be very careful in choosing my laundry detergent (Gain is right out), dish liquid and other cleaning supplies.  Well, vinegar works wonderfully as a cleaning agent and bleach.

Believe me, this is not a psychosomatic condition...it's real and some times I can have a reaction before I even smell or come into contact with the reagent.  My doctor thinks that since Dad has the same problem it may be hereditary.

Thanks for spreading the word!

Kate

Hi Kate !

Believe me when I tell you I know it is not hereditary! I think because the world is getting so over populated and with inter-racial marriages that new problems arise with the human body. Please don't get me wrong, love is love, no matter what color your skin is but over the years there have been new strains of deseases that were never around before - Peace and Love Kate
