The “winds” of change in men’s skin careMen's Skin Care Products

Men have typically gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to skin care. They get shaving cream and aftershave; that’s pretty much it. The shaving cream (or gel) is designed primarily as a lubricant, while the aftershave is typically an alcohol base with fragrance that cools off the skin irritation.

Well, guess what? Women would like their men to take a little better care of their skin, and there is a growing trend among men to treat themselves to the “good stuff.” A look around professional football and basketball locker rooms—occupied by the manliest and most trend-setting of men—will reveal a lot of expensive, high-tech shaving and skin care products aimed at the guy who deserves the best.

With the addition of two new products in the May Highlights Catalog, Watkins has the “good stuff” today’s man is looking for. Trade Winds Liquid Shave Soap and Aftershave Balm complete a three-part system that began with Trade Winds Skin Elixir last Father’s Day:

  1. 02922 Trade Winds Liquid Shave Soap
The Shave Soap does double duty; it gently cleanses as it moisturizes and conditions skin with extracts of aloe vera, green tea, and sea algae. Its high-tech-looking brushed aluminum bottle is fitted with a handy pump.

  2. 02920 Trade Winds skin Elixir
The Skin Elixir tones and refreshes with a splash of alcohol but won’t dry skin, thanks to our botanicals and nourishing panthenol.

  3. 02924 Trade Winds Aftershave Balm
The Aftershave Balm features a blend of aloe vera, green tea extract, algae extract and six other botanicals to nourish skin; safflower oil, shea butter and jojoba oil are rapidly absorbed to provide intense moisturization as vitamins E, A and D give the formula added antioxidant protection.
