Recently a fellow member of Adland ask me how to put an Adland banner on his blog. So, I wrote a step-by-step tutorial on how this is accomplished.
Here is what you need to do to add an ALP banner to your blog:
~ Note: These instructions are for adding to Blogger.com blogs ~
First thing you need to do is to get the code for an Adland banner. So, you need to visit http://www.adlandpro.com and sign in to your ALP account, not your Network community account, but just the regular acct. You should see, on the left side, a little plaque with your affiliate number (username) next to it. Look to the right and you'll find the following tabs: (left to right) Home, Ads, Ad Services, Tools, Affiliate, Profile, TE, Email, and Info Products. Click on the tab named Affiliate
On the left side, there is a menu. Click on the link that says Link Code. The next page will begin with: Select one of the following options to get your linking code:
1. AdlandPro Custom Page
2. Basic Banner
Click on #2, and a new window will pop-up. This is the code you will need to put the ALP banner on your blog. Right click in the center of the page, select all (it will highlight the coding) and then copy it.
Open another browser window and go to the dashboard of your blog. Under the word "Dashboard", left to right, you should see the name of your blog, New Post, Change Settings, Last Update, and Posts.
Click on Change Settings. There will be four tabs across the top of the page: (l - r) Posting, Settings, Template, and View Blog.
Click on Template. Now, this part can get a bit tricky, but have faith, You can do it! Inside the large box is the html coding that actually defines your blog (ie, color, links, etc.). You need to scroll down almost to the end. What you are looking for is a line that says something like: "Begin .box" (it's before the optional footer text - hope that makes sense).
Now, look for the line:
Position your cursor below that line and type
This is called a line break and will put two spaces between the above line (which is a small banner for Blogger). Then right click and paste the coding. The good news is you can preview what the coding will look like on your blog before your publish it.
If you visit my blog, and scroll down, you will see a the small banner from Blogger. (right side). Below that is an ad from AdSense and below that is my ALP banner.
FYI, I messed and messed around with my blog until I finally figured it out. So, with a little patience, and some time, you can do it too!
If you have any questions, or have any trouble, just holler at me.
Toodles,
Lisa :`)
PS Don't forget to preview your work to make sure it looks the way you wish it too. OH, and also, don't forget to republish your blog.
