Firstly I want to thank all my friends who took the time to send me Birthday Wishes for August 9th. I was truly knocked out by the ammount of messages that flooded in. Thank you so much...you guys are the best in the business. Just thought I would share my birthday with you. Firstly it was very dark and I could hear a lot of moaning going on as the light appeared...ooops sorry wrong day!!!! Here we go then... I enjoyed a lay in until 10.30 (good start) then I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast whilst reading my messages on email and cell phone. Then at 1pm my friend arrived who was also celebrating his birthday today..how cool is that? Not only this but he was learning to fly at Exeter Airport and had invited me to join him for the afternoon at the flying club (you know how much I love planes!!) Now the idea was that whilst my friend went for his flying lesson I would sit on the picnic table over looking the airfield and do a bit of plane spotting. At 2pm my friend came out of the club house and said come on if you want to go flying...you can sit in the back for free!!!! well I don't wait to get asked twice when it comes to flying. There I was in the back seat of a cessna 172 with student and instructor in the front. The weather was really good visability but we did have a 12 knot crosswind to contend with and as we taxied out the instructor said "its going to be a bumpy one" Well he was right it was a roller coaster ride. But man what a view flying over Exeter and the rolling hills of beautiful Devon. We did some navigation exercises that took us about one and a half hours to complete at 3,000 feet. Back to the airport for a very exciting 14 knot crosswind landing...awesome!! Then I was met by a very special young lady who had come to take me home to get ready for a night out. I was being treated to the best seafood restaurant in Exeter City. The Blue Fish is a really classy place to eat serving the most delicious seafood and the most beautiful wine. It has three levels with the restaurant on the top level and then two wine bar chill out lounges below with big leather sofas to chill out on whilst listening to some cool jazz. A taxi cab home after a wonderful birthday made special by my friends and family and of course you wonderful guys at Adland. Thank you.
