Hi Larry,

I have received "official looking" emails from PayPal, Bank of America, First National Bank of Omaha, etc. using each ones logo asking for information to upgrade my account.

However after them calling directly on the phone I was told by each they do not use email to communicate with their customers  and this was "phishing scam".

For saftey I do not answer any such emails or open any attachments.

Thanks and have a great afternoon,
Herb G

Hi Herb,

The next time you get this type of message from a site that has a secure server just place your mouse over the logo or link image and if it doesn't start with https:// you will know its a spoof email.

You did the right thing by contacting them but at least you know now!

Best Wishes

John.

Larry,

Unfortunately, I receive these type of emails every day. All phishing schemes, any where from e-Bay, PayPal, Bank of America, the Nigerian scam, and probably a dozen others.

I have a special forum that specifically targets these scams. If you wish, you can peruse it here

Thanks for sharing this important scam email!

Toodles,
