The amazing part of this quote is that each of these things can feed the other. Motivation is the fuel that feeds the fire. It can change your attitude. Attitude is the energy that accomplishes things. It can change your level of ability. We all have innate strengths in certain areas of intelligence. Some have good sense of pitch and rhythm in music while others struggle to carry a tune in a bucket. Some are naturals with numbers while others struggle to do the most basic of computations. Despite where our aptitude lies, each of these intelligences, these abilities, can be nurtured and encouaged to grow by a combination of having a PRIMARY DRIVING PURPOSE (motivation, or a "why") and ATTITUDE (how you think about yourself, in particular). I kinda disagree with the quote Bogdan! We're capable of much more than our mere ability. A couple of requests and you have the combined capabilities of many, for example! :) "I am always doing things I can't do, that's how I get to do them." ~ Pablo Picasso ~ Motivation is fickle and short lived. It's all based in our thoughts and subconscious beliefs and our core values. Inner, personal work on shifting our "beingness" is so important for channeling our actions for what we want to be accomplishing. "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing that's why we recommend it daily." ~ Zig Ziglar ~ Attitude...hmmm! I'm thinking about that one. The word 'attitude' is not one I've quite 'got' true meaning for - dictionary says "posture of body; settled opinion and behaviour". I think it's more like the costs and the pay-offs that'll determine how well we do a thing. Change in bodily posture can definitely shift our perception of a situation. 'Settled opinion' is another way of saying 'beliefs'. "Do not dare to live without some clear intention toward which your living shall be bent. Mean to be something with all your might." Phillips Brooks Anyway, shall leave you with those nutshells. Their not comprehensive by any means - I wrote them 'on-the-fly'. It'd take pages to fully explore!! Here's a free book for you all...just because...: http://sizzling-edge.blogspot.com/2005/04/why-personal-growth-programs-dont-stay.html Love from Thea :)

Hi Thea, First I would like to thank you for your comments to those quotes. You always have something to say about them and I really appreciate you taking the time to give your thoughts here. My understanding of abilities is our mental or physical preparedness at given point of time to perform certain task. If I can jump 1 meter high, no matter how hard I try, I won't be able to jump higher. The ability is not what we think we can do but what we can do given all the circumstances. When you say that we are capable much more than our ability, I hear I'm capable of more than I think I'm. The attitude I see as our determination, perseverance and focus in our approach. Bogdan
