If I may make a suggestion? Many people will ignore your post because they do not know you so they will just see it as another ad - which there is lots of here. Your post is a bit like walking through a crowd of strangers and saying "vote for me in a popularity contest" -- but they do not know you so they will ignore you.

Instead, I suggest this. Change your signature file in your profile to read:
On August 12 I need your help. I am an inventor and will be on Startup Nation. Please vote for my invention on August 12 at this link;
(put link to where the vote will be)

Then- just go interact. Join conversations. Talk with people. They will grow to know you. People are more likely to vote for a friend than for a complete stranger.

On the day before, then send a reminder to your list saying please remember to vote for me tomorrow. The same on August 12. Post one more time asking your friends to please remember to give you a vote.
