Hello Larry,
I know I have been only talking about my son whenever I get on here, but that is where my mind and energy is at.
I want to thank all of you for your concern and support.
Stephen has progressed to the point of walking without help now. He went to Boston, MA for intake and I was told they will be getting back to me for an appointment to get his bolts removed from when he had his jaws wired. They will also be doing an MRI, 3D CT Scan, and Neological testing to find out what extent of brain damage occurred.
As for reconstructing his jaws or doing implants for his teeth, we may be waiting until he turns 17 because his bones are still growing.
His right calf is still healing, but the other bones seem to be healed quite well. He still can't jump or run or ride his bike, but he is able to walk through a department store, and up and down the stairs to his room. He can swim, but he prefers to spend his time playing on the play station.
I was very fortunate to move to Vermont, simply because Kentucky has none of the rehab programs we have access to now.
That is where we stand for now. Just wanted to let you know I'm still here, just had doctors' appointments almost every day for two months!!
I also would like to apologize for not having a personal picture. Even if I did, I have no way of scannng it, as my scanner and my computer aren't compatible.
Your friend,
Lola
