Q: I don’t seem to have any problem calling leads or reaching people in my initial contact. I do have trouble getting past the initial stage and actually getting people to join. What can I do?
A: There are many variables which could be affecting your outcome. My guess is that your perception and attitude toward the outcome plays a big role. The fact you are focusing on those few prospects that have not joined your business tells me you don't have enough people in the prospecting funnel.
You will find by viewing prospecting as a necessary element of your success and the fact that some will join but most won't, you can keep moving forward toward those who really want to work with you in the business.
If you focus on, "nobody is joining" or "if I contact this person, they won't be interested," you will find yourself always in a miserable challenging position. Begin to build your perception that people will do business with you and know why they should do business with you.
TIP – Prospecting is all about planting a seed. Some of these seeds (not all of them) will develop into the start of a relationship with your prospect and eventually, based on the law of numbers, people will join you in business. Keep planting the seeds (prospecting).
