Current GAS Economy according to the economic policy institute National gs prices average : $2.33/gallon Average Miles Driven : 20,000 miles/year Average fuel efficiency : 15mpg Average Gallons year : 1,333.33 x $2.33/gallon = $3106/year 2 car per household = $6212/year 2004 median household income $44K before tax. 20% of your take home money used for gas. (according to the economic police institute) What will happen when the gas prices hit $4 per gallon or even $5 per gallon? Are you ready for that? 1,333.33 x $4/year = $5333.32/year 2 cars = $10,666.64/year How would you like to save 25 - 50 cents per gallon every time you stop for gas?
