Florence,She is our Adlandpro Florence nightengale.She wears that title so well.Florence is a special friend to everyone.She is very active in this community.Everyone loves and depends on her for her insight and wisdom.Florence is alot like me,she has many loves and defends what she believes in. Their's a lot of cutting corners so it may be short! I'm french & fluently speak it, born in Senneterre Quebec & moved to Walford Ontario when I was 3, 2 minutes from my home here in the country. I'm smack in the middle of Sudbury & Sault-Ste-Marie. I come from a large family of 7 girls & 2 boys, I'm the fifth girl. I had a very hard childhood, it was not easy but I survived it!
My 32yr old brother Lucien died of cancer in 1989, he was our first death in the family & I took it very hard, also a brother that died 2hrs after birth in the late 60's. Both of my parents are deceased, my dad 9yrs ago & my mom in Sept of 2004.
I have 2 children - 8-1/2yrs apart & raised them on my own, they are now grown-ups, I also have a beautiful 12yr old grand-daughter. My companions are a 12 + 4-1/12 & 3-1/2yr old cats, a 1yr & 4mths old min-pin dog + a 19yr old registered quarter horse I have since she was 3. At 17 my first job was a live in Nanny for 1-1/2yrs, I enjoyed it, then I moved on to work opening retail stores for a few yrs. One day I was offered a position as a salesperson in the last store I worked at, I accepted. After 1yr, I got promoted to third person then assistant manager also I took on the job of decorating the floor + window designing that I enjoyed tremendously!
I worked long hrs & many yrs at retail, I decided to do something different & started college for a bartending course. After 1mth in school I was offered an assistance manager position for a music store, I accepted. That was the highest paid job but the most boring one I've ever encountered... after 2yrs I quit !!!
I moved to Massey & bought my 2 acre 5bdrm country home, it's so peaceful here! I changed my career to Home & Patient Care for Sudbury Health Care District working for cancer patients. One night there was a horrible electric storm & lost everything by fire + my cat. I was in shock for about 1mth, this is when my 12yr old cat Princess came into my life, she was 1yr old.
I needed to work more to get back on my feet, so after 4yrs I moved on to Palliative Care working for the dying. I took several courses at the Cambriage College so I may give proper care for the dying on their last 3 to 5dys of their lives. I stayed at their homes 24hrs until their lasts breath. Running into the 4th yr of working in Palliative Care I was feeling their pain & was getting very ill, it became very hard to work!
While I did Palliative Care I decided to create a home biz on my property, a 20X48 greenhouse named "Flo's Greeneries", it took 3yrs of hard work to build it. After working 6yrs into Palliative Care I quit to open my doors to the public. During that time I took care of my dad for 1-1/2mths at my home as he was very sick then he went home in Quebec & died shortly after. My business did very well I was very happy of my accomplishments.
I needed winter work so I cultivated by hand 6 large flower beds for dried cut flowers to create flower arrangements for winter work to keep my doors open. A couple of yrs later my mom had a heart attack so I took care of her for 3mths at my home, then she returned home to Florida.
At the end of the third yr of operating my biz, one night we had a wicked snow storm. The next morning my greenhouse was flat to the ground buried, destroyed, I was in shock for a few wks to see all that hard work gone!
Then a few wks after my loss I learned my son had Leukemia so I rented out my home & moved to Edmonton to help & be with him while he was on chemotherapy as there was no outlook in his future. That was a frightening & horrible time to go through, it's now 8yrs & my son is cured from cancer. Almost everyday I thank the Lord for giving him a second chance at life.
In 1999 I decided to get into computers as I was very ill so so I may work at home while I try to get my health back in order. I moved back to my home in Massey Oct 2004 because the tenants have made a lot of damage to my home, slowly I'm repairing it! Up to this day I'm still trying to get back on my feet but struggle with Goalfer's Elbows in both arms as I live with pain every day, I take a lot of natural products to help me. I like being active & try to enjoy life to the fullest!
In 2002 I decided to create a Home Biz website & I enjoy designing it! It wasn't suppose to be a large site but with the theme I chose... it is! I'm hoping to be hosted to the WWW by the end of 2006 if all goes well !!! Their's a lot of obstacles along the way but I keep going at it, one day it will get published!
At this time I'm an Independent Contractor in Net Marketing & love staying home to work. While I work at finishing designing my site I manage 4 blogs but promote heavily "Flo's Home Biz Resources & Fun Blog" & "Flo's Personal Space". I do ok but are working on getting a better income for a better life but it takes time, motivation, hard work & the will to succeed!
