Success Is Not An Accident

SUCCESS IS NOT AN ACCIDENT ~ by Brian Tracy Success is not a miracle. Nor is it a matter of luck. Everything happens for a reason, good or bad, positive or negative. When you are absolutely clear about what you want, you only need to copy others who have achieved it before you, and you will eventually get the same results that they have. This is referred to in the Bible as the Law of Sowing and Reaping which says that, "Whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap." Sir Isaac Newton called it the third principle of motion. He said, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." For you and me, the most important expression of this universal law is that, "Thoughts are causes and conditions are effects." Put another way, "Thought is creative." Your thoughts are the primary creative forces in your life. You create your entire world by the way you think. All the people and situations of your life have only the meaning you give them by the way you think about them. And when you change your thinking, you change your life, some times in seconds! The most important principle of personal or business success is simply this: You become what you think about most of the time. It is not what happens to you but how you think about what happens to you that determines how you feel and react. It is not the world outside of you that dictates your circumstances or conditions. It is the world inside you that creates the conditions of your life.

Hi Linda, Now this one I must challenge on just about any basis you care to mention. "This is referred to in the Bible as the Law of Sowing and Reaping which says that, "Whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap." " This is not the law of sowing and reaping - this is the law of inevitable consequence. Plant carrots - you reap carrots. Plant potatoes - you get potatoes. "For you and me, the most important expression of this universal law is that, "Thoughts are causes and conditions are effects." " This is far too simplistic and naive. Do conditions never give rise to thoughts? Are not conditions the results of effects? Are not conditions the rulers of effect? Are not conditions also causes? Do not thoughts give rise to effects? Do not thoughts give rise to conditions? "Your thoughts are the primary creative forces in your life." Even before you are able to formulate a thought, the primary creative force in your life is need - and need continues to be so for the rest of your life. It is a fact that if you only think you need something, your desire to satisfy that need will not be a controlling factor in what you do. If you really do need something, that need will become a primary drive. It will take far too long to go over the other contradictions in this little essay but I think Brian Tracey must have been having an off day to promulgate such loosely worded and possibly dangerous opinions.

Hi Linda, Thank you for the invitation to this forum. You have put some great points here. Everything one does, (says, thinks, eats, drinks etc) in their life there is a reaction or consequence of good or bad. Kind regards Amanda Martin-Shaver 'Eat more Chocolate'
