If you own a business, then you are probably constantly looking for ways to attract new customers and take the company to a new level. Rate these.
1. Simulate until it works out fine
The transport company Lyft understood that in order to attract new customers online, they needed to achieve harmony between the number of drivers (supply) and passengers (demand). Too few drivers and too many passengers waiting are a direct way to annoy the latter. Too many drivers and insufficient number of passengers - and you get dissatisfied drivers.
So Lyft artificially created an imitation of a large number of drivers. They hired independent drivers to work in the most tumultuous time. Passengers were pleased that such a number of cars at rush hour was available at the first call, so the demand for the company's services increased sharply. Then Lyft was staffed with drivers.
2. Honesty rules the ball - don't be afraid to share
In the first 9 months of operation, 30,000 users joined Buffer, a social media management tool.

The recipe for success is a combination of giving users the right to publish on the blog, and, more importantly, a fearless decision to share comprehensive information about the company. Transparency is one of Buffer's values, and in 2013 they did not change their principle by publishing a post with the names and salaries of all their employees. A bold move not only attracted media attention to them and increased the flow of traffic to their site. The number of resumes sent to the company doubled.
3. God is in the details
The Uber example inspires almost everyone. Just think - they offered delivery of vans with ice cream, on Valentine's Day delivered roses to regular customers.
Instead of spending millions on advertising trying to attract new customers, they focused on pleasant things that caused a wave of positive reviews and references in the press, increasing the flow of traffic to their application and helping them to acquire regular customers.
4. Do not be afraid of updates
Of course, you already know that you should launch campaigns on social networks, but also you should be aware of the latest trends and not be afraid to update your product. For example, the video game I Am Playr, after updating and improving, was built into the interface of the social network Facebook.
Of course, 4 million new users in just 6 months is an excellent result, but it would not be possible if the company was afraid of updates and did not use marketing channels that were non-standard for small companies to attract users.
5. Coalitions with successful players
Instagram with its stories decided to be nice and collaborate with existing services such as Twitter and Facebook. That is how the company quickly gained fame and spread on platforms with a huge user base.
