I would like to start a blog
2/26/2006 7:24:40 AM
I would like to start a blog but not real sure what I should blog about. I do run and online fitness site so should I write about this? I set one up at blogger.com but have no idea what I am doing and what the purpose for it is. Any advice would be appeciated. Denise

Hello Denise, Your fitness site would be perfect to write about. This will help boost your site's popularity. Since blogging is evolving into other media as well (audio/video) I would suggest getting in touch with me and I can get you specifics to your needs. Contact me by my Inbox here at AdlandPro. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to create blog? My host apparently does not support word press so I started one at blogger.com is this ok to do? How do you know how to edit everything in there it looks so complicated. Denise

Hi Denise, It's ok to use a blogging service. Blogger.com can be a little scary to look at since it's focus is to look good in a Firefox browser. When looked at in an IE browser it doesn't look the same always. If you want to change or add to the template you'll need to know CSS and XHTML. They also use a few quirky commands that took me a while to figure out. So my partner and I came up with something better. Another thing to know about Blogger.com is it's owned by Google and with all Google products they scan and archive everything (the same they do with all G-Mail accounts). Do they share this with other services? No. And they are trying to corner the info market in several ways they may lead to 'have to pay for' if you want it. Another thing for Blogger.com members is you have to submit your blog to all the blog directories on your own or add code to your template to try to automate the process. This doesn't always work, either. You may wish to look at other services that offer more tools to automate the process and see if any service offers live coaching. Hello, What other options do I have besides blogger.com? I have heard of word press but my host does not support this. Denise
