On May 1, 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed that May 1 of each year would be Law Day in the United States.

Did you know the legal field originated from biblical principles?
Consider the following evidence.

“I verily believe Christianity necessary to the support of civil society.
One of the beautiful boasts of our municipal jurisprudence is that Christianity is a part of the Common Law …
There never has been a period in which the Common Law did not recognize Christianity as lying its foundations.”
– Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, Harvard Speech, 1829

THE COURT SYSTEM IN BIBLE PROPHECY

Lawyer's existed during biblical times, in that the Holy Bible mentions
"Zenas the lawyer" ( Titus 3:13) and "Gamaliel, a teacher of the law". (Acts 5:34).

Many legal terms originated from the Holy Bible. The following legal terms can be found in the Holy Bible and in law dictionaries.

Court: (Deuteronomy 25:1)
Judge:
(Deuteronomy 25:1)
Lawyer ( Titus 3:13)
Defense: ( 1 Corinthians 9:3)
Persecution (Acts 22:4)
Verdict. (Judges 20:7)
Zealous (Acts 22:3)
Appeal: (Acts 25:1-12)http://delawaretrialpractice.foxrothschild.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/41/2015/07/Appeal.png

Appeal rights have been granted since biblical times,in that during Paul's trial before Porcius Festus, Paul made the following request " I appeal to Caesar!" (Acts 25:1-12).
