The Daily Prayer 12.11.2014“A Prayer For Our Country”Alicia K. Hanlen, RScP
Today let us recognize that we are all one in Spirit, in Life. We breathe the same air, are warmed by the same sun, and live on the same planet. Indeed, we are all made of the same divine substance. And in addition, we recognize that we, as Americans, are joined together as part of the same “tribe”, if you will, ultimately sharing the same creed of “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.So, from this space of recognition of how we are ultimately the same, let us begin to focus more on these facets of our being, rather than on our differences. Let us take those steps necessary and pledge that together we can seek, and indeed do find, a resolution to those challenges that our nation faces at this time in our history, these challenges that include racial unrest, political and social differences in ideology, and an overly critical view of one another’s religious or spiritual beliefs and practices. Let us, each in our own heart, mind and soul, seek to find that space for an opening, a path to reconciliation. I pray and know that each of us can find that space, that opening, to allow in the healing light of Spirit, and the all-prevailing power of Love. Believe with me and know that Spirit knows the path, even though we may not presently see it. I pray and know that each of us individually can and do indeed allow that softening of our position whatever it may be, to see that there is a path to reconciliation, to love, and to peace in our great nation. As we each find that movement in our own consciousness and thought, as we look to each other as brothers and sisters, and not enemies or those on “the other side”, we can and do set aside our differences and find our common ground, our common good. I pray and know this for our President, our Senators, our Congress, and indeed for each and every citizen in our country: To find a path, to seek an opening, to allow for the resolution of differences for the highest and best for each and every person in America, and ultimately, on our planet.I am grateful for the opportunity to see from a new perspective, to move away from contentiousness, chaos, and rigidity, and instead to see and know the inherent good in every person and situation. Thank you, dear Spirit, for allowing this truth to be revealed for our nation, its citizens, and its inhabitants. Thank you, dear Life, for seeing and expressing our deeper reality, our divinity, our connection — now and forever and always — to you. And so I just allow these words, thoughts and feelings to be placed into the immutable Law of Mind, knowing that it is done, here, now and always. And so it is.Alicia K.
