I recently returned from the 2014 CSL Teen Summer Camp in Idyllwild, CA, where the theme for the week was BE-YOU-tiful. In that space, teens are taught the truth of who they are. That truth is that each of us is God expressing. This is my prayer born of that phenomenal adventure.

There is but One Life. That Life is the Life of the Divine. Call It God, Spirit, All-that-Is, The Thing Itself, Jesus, Krishna, Jehovah, Allah, Atman, Buddha, Christ, Father, Great Spirit, Goddess, Great Mother, Holy Spirit or I Am. It is the One Source and that Source Is Love. It is Joy. It is Beauty. It is Peace Supreme. This One Source is the Truth of who I am. I am one with It; part of It; inseparable from It. I am made from It and any idea that I am anything other than that is mistaken thinking. For God loves me so much that He is lonely without me. And just as this is true of me, it is true of you. You are the Precious Child of God and God himself is lonely without you. You are his beloved. So loved, so treasured just because of who you are – a part of that Divine, waiting to be seen and known for the you that is you.

You are an Original. You are Unique. No one does things exactly as you do. That fear that others may not “get” you, it’s time to let that go, for you can never really be the you you were meant to be as long as you worry about what anyone else thinks. That longing in you that is pressing you to let it come out and play, it’s time you let it come out and play. Will everyone like it? Of course not. Who cares! What matters is that there is Beauty within you waiting to be birthed, waiting to find its way into this world and show the world the creativity brimming within you and it needs expression. Your quirky take on things is needed. The world is longing to experience your individual expression. Someone out there wants to know the you that is you so that they may be the them that is them. By stepping more fully into ourselves, we give others permission to do the same. We take the world by storm. Our wild hearts come out and dance and sing and joy unbounded spills forth. The love-fest begins. Love swirls round and kisses everything. People remember who they are. They remember how loved they are. They remember that God is lonely without them and so they come home into His arms and allow the realization of how treasured they are to settle in and sooth their broken souls. You are meant to be-you-tiful. Be yourself. Be the person God intended you to be.

So, I give thanks for Centers for Spiritual Living, for Teen Camp, for all the congregants who supported our teens and me and made the experience of camp a reality. I give thanks for the experience that reminds our teens how incredibly precious they are, just as they are; that reminds them of how loved they are, how beautiful they are, how wondrous, how amazing. I give thanks for each and every teen that had the opportunity to be at camp and for the opportunity to share it with them, to be able to hold the space of love for them so they could remember the truth of who they are – precious, precious children of God; beautiful beings of light, love dancing through this world. I am grateful for this philosophy. I am grateful to Brandi for driving to California with me. I am grateful for all the advisors, for Keith Cox, for every teen that attended, for everyone who made Teen Camp possible.

And then, I release this prayer into the Law of Mind. I know God is smiling. I know it is already done. It can’t be otherwise. You are Beautiful because you are God expressing. And So It Is. Amen.
