Christie's London Major Victorian Painting Exhibition and Sale

Dear friends, a new great sale at Christie's London featuring William Holman Hunt, George Frederic Watts and other great masters of painting of the 19th Century has been announced by the Art Renewal Center (ARC). Some details of it here:

Christie's London will be having their major Victorian Painting sale this upcoming week. The exhibition opens today (June 13th) and will remain open until the sale on the 17th. Works include important paintings by William Holman Hunt, George Frederic Watts, James Joseph Tissot, as well as many others. The total sale contains 142 lots.

Viewing public auction presales is one of the best ways to see important works from a given period that are in private collections and are otherwise not on public view. Most if not all of these paintings are sold back into private collections and many are never put on public view again.
