Yarrow is a herb that you don't hear a lot about anymore, but it has some great properties, both in the garden and medicinally.
Garden Uses:
One small leaf will greatly speed up the decomposition of a wheelbarrow full of raw compost material.
The root secretions will activate nearby plants disease resistance.
Medicinal Uses:
It intensifies the medicinal actions of other herbs.
Helps staunch the flow of blood from wounds.
Infuse flowers for a facial steam and tonic lotion.
Infuse as a tea for digestive problems.
Culinary:
Finely chop young leaves into salads and cheese dips. The leaves will be slightly bitter and peppery tasting. Dried leaves have a mild sage like taste.
