Hi Luella,

That Gluten-Free Pie Crust looks great. One day I hope that you might make me one, oh yeah, right! I'm afraid that I have absolutely no talent for pie crusts, gluten-free or not. For my Gluten-Free Pie Crusts, I buy them already made up and ready for baking, over at the Zen-Cat Gluten-Free and Vegan Bakery in Greensboro, NC. They have at least five sales locations in Greensboro, NC, and I believe either five or six sales locations down in Durham, NC, near the Universities. I guess that we're fortunate here in North Carolina in that we have not four or five, but as many as twenty-five Gluten-Free Bakeries in various areas of NC.

Whenever I do bake any gluten-free products such as Breads and Muffins, I buy all of my supplies from Honeyville Food Products. Of course, I'm loyal to them because they give me a few cents overide on all sales of their Products sold through my Website, however, I also buy from them mainly because they are reasonably priced, their products are guaranteed Certified Oragnic and Gluten-Free, and right now for the time being at least, any size from 2 lb. to 50 lb. ships anywhere in the Continental US for just $4.49. I've been very fortunate over the past year in that I've been able to make several large sales to a couple our our NC bakeries, so quite happy with the Company.

Gluten-free products are great for individuals who are required to keep a gluten-free diet due to medical conditions such as Celiac Disease or or Crohns Disease. Some people may have only a slight intolerance or sensitivity to gluten and a simple change in their diet may show beneficial results to their health, however for far too many, it's life altering.

The Gluten-Free products at Honeyville Foods not only taste great but they may also serve as an alternative to other products that are high in gluten. Whether you are baking cookies, muffins, breads, or cooking pizza dough, Honeyville Almond Flour is a great tasting alternative to high gluten products and could be just the answer you are looking for my friends.

Thanks For Sharing Luella,

Phil

Hi Luella and Phil,

I have been wanting a recipe for a good pie crust, without the bad flour. This is great, thanks
Phil, I am so surprised about you not making pie crust. You are so good at everything else. I worked a long time until I finally got my pie crust right. Frustration for sure. lol

Hi Myrna,

No, contrary to popular belief, mostly my Mother's & my Grandmother's over the years, little Phil is not "perfect". I do have my shortcomings, and one of those is my absolute lack of Patience. When I was growing up, one of my favorite T-Shirts had printed on the back a picture of a Vulture, and he was saying "Patience My A**, I'm Gonna Go Ahead And Kill Something". I'm sure that the Ability is there, but the desire to have it now, is always stronger than the will to bear with the wait while I apply myself and make the crust.

By the way, it sounds like you, or perhaps someone you know, has problems with a sensitivity to Gluten. You might find this link to the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness to be helpful.

Have a Great Day my friend and keep on baking. If I ever make it back up to your "neck of the woods" in Pennsylvania, I'll bring the Ice Cream if you'll have a warm Apple pie ready.

Your Friend,

Phil

Hi Phil,

That is cool, not patience, I would have never guessed that was you. Funny how we get images of people. Hey I would love to make an apple pie. and I will use the above recipe. Let me know when you get in my neck of the woods. Apple time is coming soon. lol

Love the cat and mouse. Patience.
