Copper climbed to the highest level in seven weeks after trade data in China,
the biggest user, exceeded analyst estimates. Aluminum, nickel, zinc and lead
rose.

ENERGY WRAP:

West Texas Intermediate crude rose for the first time in five days as exports
and imports climbed last month in China, the world’s second-biggest oil
consumer.

PRECIOUS METAL WRAP:

Gold advanced before a report today that may show U.S. jobless claims increased,
potentially delaying moves by the Federal Reserve to slow the pace of bond
purchases. Silver and platinum climbed.
