Being In Service

By Dianne Martin, RScP

I had the privilege last Saturday to help the Giving Tree team wrap presents for families who might otherwise not have much for Christmas. It feels so good to give of my time and resources to help others. In fact, it’s the best holiday feeling I can ever imagine. And, being around like minded people who also give of themselves to make Christmas better for children and families greatly enhances my life many times over. Abundance is my birthright.

And, so, I recognize the presence of God everywhere and in around and through everyone. And, in this holiday season, I see God is in the beauty of the decorations, the sounds of choirs singing beautiful Christmas carols, the feel of the crisp winter air, the tasty holiday treats. It’s all God. And, those qualities of God seem to be magnified when we are in service to others…those qualities of love and compassion, harmony and peace, joy and happiness, abundance and beauty that we share with others.

I know that I am one with God and I have all the qualities of God as it works through me, as me. And, as I know this is true for me, I know it is true for everyone everywhere. Every person has all the qualities of God: love, compassion, harmony, peace, joy, happiness abundance, and beauty.

And so, I accept my God qualities and I see those God qualities in everyone everywhere I go. I affirm that I am in service to others in every way and at all times. And, I support others who are in service because, I know that as we are in service, our light ripples outward, through our Center, through our community and throughout the world and the Center, the community and the world is a better because of it. I affirm abundance for everyone; abundance of love, peace and beauty. I affirm my abundance and I share that abundance.

I am so grateful to the Giving Tree team who are in service and who are changing lives this holiday season. I’m grateful for those people who are in service to people impacted by Hurricane Sandy. To those people who are in service to the town of Newtown, Connecticut, my gratitude knows no bounds. I give thanks for our community for all the support and love.

And, now I release these words into the law and I let go knowing that my words come back to me fulfilled.

And so it is.
